Thousands participated and attended Chicago's annual Gay Pride Parade in the city's Northside, Sunday, June 28, 2009. Since the first parade in 1969, Chicago's celebration of gay rights has grown into one of the largest in the country. About a dozen other parades were held in other cities around the United States on the same day.
