What are, in your mind, the most important rules photojournalists must follow? Do you think the codes of ethics for professional photojournalists should apply to Citizen photojournalists (meaning photographers who work independently, and bloggers)? Why/Why not? What do you think is the biggest danger of citizen photojournalists posting photographs without written guidelines to follow? Do you have any proposed solutions for Citizen photojournalism? Should there be rules? Thank you, take care!
Hi - my name's Bridget Corrigan, and I am a photojournalism student at Ithaca College. I'm doing a paper on the ethical standards that photojournalists have to follow (National Press Photographers Association). The biggest issue I have raised goes along with tragedy: is it ok to post the photographs without family permission? The questions are in the next post - if you want to email me at bcorrig1@ithaca.edu, that's fine too!
Thank you everyone for your positive comments. They are much appreciated.
